1978 Yamaha DT125MX  2A6

I have had this DT for a fair few years now, its not a restoration really as I built this up using a UK spec 78 DT175MX frame but the other 90% of it came from an as new 78 DT125E American import from Florida with just over 600 miles from new on the clock.

Looking back in hindsight I should have left the American bike complete and just UK registered it as it was literally as new but its to late now. However its still as new and could pass for a month old never mind 33 years old. I know its Green, Yamaha Leaves Green to be precise but find a more original looking 78 DT125 and I will be surprised,  I have replaced the points/condenser loom and switches etc with a UK spec 175 loom ignition and cdi etc. Fitted a UK spec tail lamp bracket, UK headlamp and chrome grille and replaced the restrictive American spec exhaust with a brand new old stock Giannelli system "lucky find" the standard one would have stayed on it if it had to be a "Big One" what tat they are.....

The first 2 pictures are of the 78 model UK DT175 that donated it frame and V5 and that was about it, it also donated a never ran fully rebuilt 175 engine, not to bad for a 100 quid ebay bike. The rest of the pictures are of the tank and panels from the USA DT inc its new nos Green fender extender "all hail Thailand for that little find as it had a White one on and just didn't look right"

The bike is now 2x2 79 euro spec White and all the Green stuff now resides back state-side in sunny California. I will update with some more pics.
