1980 Yamaha DT175MX  4J4

This DT175MX was the first bike I restored, it started with a bike that had stood under a sheet for over 10 years when i got it from Ebay. I got it from a fella whos brother purchased it new, It came to me with both sets of original keys and owners manuals etc. The bike was totaly original save for its front fender, registration plate and a period Fresco tailpipe. Almost everything on the bike was locked solid, engine brakes bearings the lot. The only parts original to the bike when it was finished were the frame, swinging arm, loom, clocks, crankcases and gearbox the Fresco tailpipe plus a few other bits n bobs. Everything else was replaced.

I sold the bike on ebay then instantly regretted it. It caused quite a stare on a few Yamaha forums at the time of the sale because of the high price that it sold for. I was not suprised though as i have yet to see a better
one even from pro restorers who do this for a living. I see them for sale all the time with the wrong decals, wrong seat covers bla bla all wrong and they just don't look right.

Here are the pictures of the bike as it was listed on ebay when I bought it, further down are a couple of pics of just some of its new parts that were fitted and then the finished bike...
